Patriotic Nigerians Resume Protest At National Assembly To Demand Compulsory Real-Time Electronic Transmission Of Election Results

Patriotic Nigerians will today Monday, 16 February return to the National Assembly to demand compulsory real-time electronic transmission of election results, amid growing concerns about transparency and credibility in the country’s electoral process.

The demonstrators, comprising civil society groups, activists, and concerned citizens will lead the Charge to the National Assembly to demand implementation of technology-driven measures that would ensure timely and accurate reporting of results from polling units nationwide.

A political commentator, Peter Akah revealed the development on X.

According to the him, previous election cycles in Nigeria have been marred by delays, manipulation, and alleged tampering with results, undermining public confidence in the electoral system. He argued that real-time electronic transmission is essential to eliminate these challenges and guarantee transparency.

The planned protest at the National Assembly followed a similar demonstration in at the complex, reflecting widespread public concern over the integrity of elections and the need for reforms that leverage technology to secure credible outcomes.
