Don’t Vote Thieves And Criminals — Rufai Oseni Urges Nigerians To Think Of Country’s Future Ahead 2027 Election

Prominent broadcaster and Arise TV co-host Rufai Oseni has issued a direct appeal to Nigerian voters ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging citizens to prioritise the nation’s long-term future by refusing to support corrupt or criminal figures in politics.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Oseni wrote: “Get ready for election on Feb 20 2027. Don’t vote thieves and criminals. Think of the future of this country.”

The message, which quickly gained traction with over 1,700 likes, 655 reposts, and more than 21,000 views within hours, reflects growing public frustration with governance issues as the country approaches another pivotal national vote.

Oseni followed up shortly after with additional advice: “Ensure you don’t allow anyone steal your vote.

The call comes amid ongoing debates about electoral integrity, corruption perceptions, and leadership accountability.

Oseni, known for his outspoken commentary on national issues during his morning show on Arise TV, has consistently advocated for transparent processes and voter vigilance in past statements.

His latest post echoes recurring concerns about the influence of alleged corrupt practices on Nigeria’s democratic choices.

Reactions to the message on social media were swift and polarized.

Some users interpreted it as a clear warning against supporting certain political figures or parties associated with past allegations of misconduct.

One reply stated bluntly, “Make it straight—don’t vote APC,” while another added, “Rufai go straight to the point.. Don’t vote Tinubu.

Supporters of the current administration pushed back, with posts defending ongoing governance efforts and featuring images promoting continued support for the ruling party.

Others highlighted broader systemic challenges, noting that “They’ll still vote criminals and thieves because of tribes and religion,” or expressing skepticism about change: “We have heard this countless times And these crooks still find their ways into power.”

Oseni’s appeal aligns with his history of emphasizing credible elections.

In previous broadcasts and posts, he has warned that without meaningful electoral reforms—such as reliable electronic transmission of results—future polls risk repeating controversies seen in earlier cycles.

He has also stressed the importance of citizens safeguarding their ballots and rejecting manipulation.
