‘We Are Now In A One-Party State,’ Isaac Fayose Breaks Down In Tears Following Senate’s Rejection Of Electoral Reform (VIDEO)

Social commentator and brother of a former Ekiti State governor, Isaac Fayose, has reacted emotionally to the Nigerian Senate’s rejection of key provisions in the proposed Electoral Act amendment, including the electronic transmission of election results, warning that the decision signals a dangerous slide toward a one-party state.

In a video circulating widely on social media, Fayose is seen visibly distressed, struggling to hold back tears as he condemned the Senate’s decision to throw out clause that would have strengthened electoral transparency, including mandatory electronic transmission of election results.

According to him, the move undermines democracy and weakens the credibility of future elections.

“This country is gone. We are now in a one-party state,” Fayose said in the video, lamenting what he described as the systematic erosion of democratic checks and balances. He accused the political class of working against the will of the people and prioritising personal and party interests over national progress.

‘‘We have finally løst the battle. Nigeria is gone; it’s so painful. 220 million people wasted, so sad We are now in a one-party state.”
