VIDEO: Sharia Law Is Incompatible With American Values And Has No Place In US — Congressman Brandon Gill

Following the Sharia-Free America Caucus first media conference on Tuesday, congressman, Brandon Gill has said the Sharia law conflicts with the U.S. Constitution and Western values, hinting at ongoing efforts to ban Islamic law being applied anywhere in the country.

Republican lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives last month launched the Sharia-Free America Caucus, an initiative they say is aimed at opposing what they describe as the growing influence of Sharia law in the United States.

The caucus was founded by Rep. Keith Self (Texas-03) and Rep. Chip Roy (Texas-21) and has expanded rapidly since its formation on December 18, 2025

According to its organizers, the caucus now includes 26 members from 17 states, a development supporters say reflects increasing concern among conservative lawmakers over immigration, national identity, and the role of religion in public life.

Speaking at the group’s first press conference on Tuesday, Rep Gil described Sharia as one of the greatest threats facing the nation.

‘’Sharia law and radical Islam have no place in the United States. You know, there’s a fundamental truth that I think we’ve got to recognize, which is that not all cultures are created equal, and they are not all equally compatible with America’s governing framework.

‘’The reality is that radical Islam as a political ideology has a very different conception of freedom of speech than we have in the United States. A very different conception of freedom of religion, of separation of church and state, or of mosque and state. Islam as a political ideology is inherently imperialistic, and we see that now, unfortunately, all over the Western world.’’

Sharia is a complex, expansive body of religious laws that guides Muslims’ daily lives, providing direction on issues including worship and relationships. There is currently no known effort at the local, state or federal level to impose Islamic law.
