BUSTED: Fraud Accused Bashir Ahmad Caught Lying About Report Of Mosque Attack In Sokoto To Counter Christians Persecution In Nigeria
Bashir Ahmad, former special assistant on digital communications to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari has come under heavy criticisms after being caught lying that an Imam and several worshippers were killed in a mosque attack in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The former aide accused of multi-million naira federal payroll fraud in 2022 on Sunday misled some news platforms that terrorists stormed a mosque in Sabon Birni, killing the Imam and worshippers and abducting others.
In response to the report, Chairman of Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Ayuba Hashimu, dismissed the claims saying such never happened in the area.
“I don’t know any mosque that was attacked, not to talk of killing of an Imam and worshippers. The story is false,” Hashimu said.
Also, a lawmaker from the area, Hon. Aminu Boza, also debunked the reports, stating that there was no mosque attack on Saturday.
“I don’t know how they got their story, but it is not true. No mosque was attacked by bandits,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nigerians are coming for Ahmad on X faulting him for trying to counter the Christian genocide narratives with false reports.
