I’ll Never Go to PDP – El-Rufai

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has addressed rumors regarding his possible presidential ambitions.
Speaking on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Monday evening, El-Rufai acknowledged that while he is qualified to contest for the presidency, he has never discussed such intentions with anyone.
His comments came in response to questions about his recent meetings with opposition figures.

Recently, El-Rufai met with several members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State and also held discussions with Atiku Abubakar, a former PDP presidential candidate, as well as representatives of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Despite these engagements, El-Rufai dismissed any speculation about joining the PDP.
According to El-Rufai: “Anyone from the age of 35 with a secondary school certificate is qualified to run for president, so in that sense, I am qualified.

“But have I started talking to anybody about running for any office? No. I have never discussed that with anybody.
“PDP is not a party I would consider joining. I thought about it long ago and made my decision. Nothing has changed.”
