Namibia upsets Tunisia 1-0 at the AFCON 2023

Namibia shocked highly-ranked Tunisia in the opening Group E match of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON 2023, with the game’s lone goal.

It was expected to be an easy ride for the 2004 winners because they were thought to be the weakest team in the group, but Namibia had other ideas. In the 88th minute, Deon Hotto Kavendji scored a header to break the defense that had allowed goals the whole qualifying campaign.

The outcome leaves the group wide open, increasing the likelihood that even Namibia will advance to the next round.
