“63,111 individuals killed between 2015 and 2023” Shehu Sani challenges Buhari.
Shehu Sani, a former federal legislator from Southern Kaduna, has criticized former President Muhammadu Buhari for the historically high level of insecurity that existed throughout his presidency.
In a message sent on Sunday on his verified X handle, Sani charged that northern stakeholders were remaining silent in the face of a high death toll under Buhari’s administration.
The former senator went on to say that because the former president is from the North, people from that region who had previously found their voice had been silent from 2015 until 2023.
The activist calculated that 63,111 people had died during Buhari’s eight years in office.
Many of them remained silent and approved of the killings and kidnappings that occurred in the North for eight years, according to Sani.
“They called us all sorts of names in their efforts at defending failure. They cared more about protecting their president than they did about the bodies of their brothers and sisters.
When roughly 63,111 people were slain, they remained silent; twice as many people, including 1,680 students, were abducted.
“Because their kinsman was in charge at the time, they lost their voice. Because the current leader is not a member of their family, they have found their voice today.
