2027: Nigerians Can’t Afford Another Grave Mistake By Selling Their Votes To Destiny Buyers And Nation Destroyers — Bishop Oyedepo Warns Against Vote Buying

Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has issued a stern warning to Nigerians, urging them to reject vote-buying and short-term thinking that threaten the nation’s future.

Speaking during a March 2026 service, Oyedepo criticized voters who exchange their future for money, declaring, “The money they gave you in the last election – I’m sure it’s still there. How come? To buy your destiny? Destiny of the nation for sale.”

He also raised alarms about identity-based politics, warning that “Muslim-Muslim tickets” and other divisive practices could escalate into extreme forms of ethnic and family-based control.

“Federal character has been destroyed,” he said, cautioning that corruption at the top levels could trickle down, turning local governments into “the heritage of certain families.”

Describing many Nigerians as “myopic,” Oyedepo stressed the need for long-term thinking in a religiously and politically divided country.

He noted that similar warnings he raised in 2015 were ignored, emphasizing that prophetic insights are serious guidance, not casual remarks.

He concluded with a strong caution for the 2027 elections: “If Nigeria makes another mistake now… God forbid!” The sermon ended with a call to prayer for divine intervention to “deliver this nation from going backward.”
